Go Metro approached us to pick up a design project that a number of agencies had failed to get right. Designing a Taxi wrap can be quite a challenge, and in this particular case the design had to help showcase what could be the future of the minibus taxi industry and a first for South Africa, a fully electric minibus taxi.

Solution

The taxi in South Africa is just as iconic as London’s black cabs and New York’s yellow cabs, our taxis are painted white and sport a South African flag with coloured ribbons intertwined almost like flames down both sides of the vehicle. We leaned into the flag, but instead of ribbons we took influence from circuit board diagrams, connecting nodes throughout the design like the various nodes along taxi routes. Design is about solving problems for our customers, and in this instance Go Metro and all of their other partners on this project embraced the design for the eKamva Electric Minibus.
